1. Data We Collect

We process the following data to provide the service:

• Account information: email address, password (stored encrypted), username, display name, and profile photo.
• Pet & health data: pet profiles (name, species, breed, birth date, photo), vaccination, weight and medication records, and health passport details.
• User content: posts, stories, comments, likes, follow relationships, forum topics, and walk events.
• Messaging: direct messages you send to other users, including images and voice messages you attach.
• Location: with your permission, your approximate or precise location to tag posts and to show walk events and nearby businesses on the map.
• Camera, photos & microphone: accessed only when you initiate taking/selecting a photo or recording a voice message.
• Device & technical data: push notification token, app version, and basic diagnostic/log data.

2. How We Use Data

• Create your account and authenticate you.
• Provide core features such as pet health records, the social feed, messaging, the forum, maps, and walks.
• Send notifications for interactions, messages, and reminders.
• Keep the service secure, prevent abuse, and moderate content.
• Improve the service and fix issues.

3. Third-Party Services & Sharing

We do not sell your data. We use the following infrastructure providers to operate the service:

• Supabase: authentication, database, and file storage (hosting infrastructure).
• Google Firebase Cloud Messaging: delivering push notifications.
• OpenStreetMap: map rendering.
• Apple App Store / Google Play: app distribution and, if enabled, purchases.

Content you share (posts, profile, comments) is visible to other users according to the visibility you choose. We may also disclose data where required by law or to protect users' safety.

4. Data Retention

We keep your data while your account is active. Ephemeral content such as stories expires after 24 hours. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal data within a reasonable period, subject to legal retention obligations.

5. Your Rights & Data Deletion

You can edit your profile and pet information in the app. You can permanently delete your account and associated data via "Settings → Delete Account" in the app. Subject to applicable law (e.g. GDPR/KVKK) you have the right to access, correct, delete, and object to the processing of your data. 6. Security

We apply reasonable technical and organizational measures, including encryption in transit and access controls, to protect your data. No method is 100% secure, but we work to protect your account; we recommend using a strong password.

7. International Data Transfers

Our providers may process data on servers outside your country. By using the app you consent to such transfer and processing.

8. Children's Privacy

PetCowe is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13; if we become aware of such data, we delete it.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. For material changes we will notify you in the app or on this page and update the "Last updated" date above.
